Photo Restoration Service — Repair Old, Torn, Faded & Damaged Photos

Professional Image Works restores damaged old photos by hand — tears, missing corners, water damage, fading, and color loss. A real editor rebuilds the missing pieces and recolors faded areas to match the original style. Single-photo restoration starts at $29. Heavily damaged photos with major reconstruction are $89 Heritage tier. Black-and-white-to-color colorization is included in the $49 Premium tier and optionally on Heritage. Standard turnaround is 24-48 hours. No account or subscription required.

What you get

Photo restoration at Professional Image Works is a real editor sitting with your photo — rebuilding tears piece by piece, recovering faded areas to match the original tone, repairing water and fire damage, and reconstructing missing corners and edges by referencing the surrounding image. We don't run a batch-AI pipeline that destroys irreplaceable detail; we work each photo individually so the restored version reads as the same original, just rescued.

The Basic ($29) tier covers scratch and dust removal, fade and tear repair, and B&W or color preservation on a single photo with one free revision and 24-48 hour turnaround — ideal for lightly damaged family photos that just need the cracks healed and the color brought back. Premium · Colorize ($49) is our most popular — everything in Basic plus full B&W-to-color conversion with skin-tone and lighting tuning, period-accurate colors researched from the photo's era, and two free revisions. Heritage ($89) is for the photos you thought were beyond saving: severe damage, water and fire damage, deep tears, missing sections, and multi-subject group restoration with hand-tuned manual oversight from start to finish.

Heritage orders typically still ship in 24-48 hours, but very heavy reconstruction (extensive missing sections, complex multi-subject groups) can extend to 48-72 hours — we'll flag the timeline up front if a photo needs the extra time. We accept JPG, PNG, HEIC, and TIFF up to 100 MB; scans at 600 DPI or higher produce the best results. Every order is satisfaction-guaranteed with free revisions. Files are stored on encrypted servers, used only to fulfill your order, and deleted from active storage 30 days after delivery. Pay once via Stripe, upload through a private link, and receive the restored file by email — no account, no subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Can you restore a photo with a missing corner?
Yes. Heritage-tier restoration reconstructs missing sections by referencing the photo's existing style, lighting, and composition. Up to 25% of the image can typically be rebuilt while keeping a natural look.
How do you handle very old or torn photos?
Upload a scan at 600 DPI or higher. We repair tears digitally, rebuild missing edges, recover fading, and correct yellowing. The original is never touched.
Do you restore color to black-and-white photos?
Yes. Colorization is included in the Premium ($49) tier. We research period-accurate colors for clothing, skin tone, and backgrounds based on the photo's era. Heritage ($89) optionally includes colorization on top of severe-damage repair.
What's the difference between Basic, Premium, and Heritage restoration?
Basic ($29) handles minor fading, light tears, basic spot repair on standard family photos. Premium ($49) covers moderate damage plus colorization for black-and-white originals. Heritage ($89) is for severe damage, missing sections, multi-subject group restoration, or full reconstruction — the tier for grandparent wedding photos, century-old portraits, anything irreplaceable.
Can you scan a photo for me?
We don't scan, but we'll guide you through phone-scanning if you don't have a flatbed scanner. iPhone Notes app or Google PhotoScan both produce usable scans for restoration work.
